Of all the haunted attractions in Nebraska, School District 13 is the most unique. In 2016, volunteers in western Nebraska and eastern Colorado have the opportunity to be a part of something truly spectacular! When you volunteer to work in the haunted village, you’re helping to build the economy in Brule, a small, idyllic community with a lot of potential for the future.

Volunteering is hard work, but it’s also fun. We provide costumes and make-up. All you have to do is show up between 3:00 and 6:00 PM on the nights when you’re scheduled to work. You may be put in the same position each night, or we may move you around. Either way, you’ll receive direction and guidance.

Dates for the event are as follows:

October 20 6:00 -9:00 PM (MountainTime Zone)

October 21 6:00 -11:00 PM

October 22 6:00 -11:00 PM

October 23 6:00 – 9:00 PM

October 27 6:00 – 9:00 PM

October 28 6:00 -11:00 PM

October 29 6:00 -11:00 PM

October 30 6:00 – 9:00 PM

All volunteers must work the whole night if they sign up for a shift. We only do costuming and make-up for people who are willing to stay for the duration of the entire shift.

The Pre-Scare Orientation Party is scheduled to take place on October 16th and 5:00 PM. The Pre-Scare is a fun introduction to School District 13. You’ll get a tour of the haunted city and the costume and make-up area via the haunted bus. And you’ll get to meet fellow volunteers from other nearby communities. A lot of volunteers make lasting friendships through School District 13. And it all starts at the Pre-Scare.
